If you think buying a car or choosing a new dentist involves a lot of paperwork and reading (and reading and reading) of regulations, try registering a show for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival! Luckily, the Fringe Society has awesome resource manuals for first-timers (more reading there!), but I've feel like I'm back in graduate school with all this learning and writing! Nevertheless, in between choosing between descriptive subgenres ("Comedy" is an obvious choice, but is WAITLESS more "True-Life," "Drama," or "Memoir"? Well, it's definitely not "Nudity and Adult Themes"...) and entering in disability-accessible details, I find that I'm rediscovering the delight of problem-solving and just reveling in the delight that makes theatre happen on every level. So I say, "Bring on the next sheaf and a fresh #2 pencil!" ~ Kat, Producer |
